Active ankle motion
The Terrain Logic™ sends a constant stream of signals to a control board which then instructs the high precision linear actuator to act and deliver optimal function – dorsiflexion (toe lift) in swing phase; ankle angle adjustment on varying terrain, in chair exit mode and relaxed mode; and heel height adjustment when changing shoes.
The actuator movement is generated by a lightweight stepper motor, designed to operate quietly and accurately. The movements are those that would normally be performed by muscles on the front of the shin, mainly the tibialis anterior, and the calf muscle, gastronemius.
This intelligent electromechanical control function is optimized for efficient and responsive motion attuned to the individual’s walking speed.
