Active lifting power
As fast as information about the user’s walking pattern is being processed, artificial intelligence transmits a stream of signals which instruct precision-machined componentry to act and deliver optimal motion.
The electromechanical actuator in the POWER KNEE™ delivers a range of responses including active lifting power, to lift the prosthetic leg up as the user ascends stairs or slopes, and propulsion for improved gait dynamics on level ground. Whereas other knee systems provide resistance to knee buckling (acting much like the brakes on your car), the POWER KNEE also replaces lost concentric muscle function, enabling complex sequences of movement and the restoration of symmetry, balance and power to the amputee’s gait.
This is the world’s first powered lower-limb prosthesis, the only prosthetic knee joint which uses motorized power to replace both the excentric and concentric muscle power lost after amputation.
